Dapoer Pandan Wangi Review

I have been to certain authentic restaurant in Indonesia. Not only sundanesse restaurant but i have been try balinesse and other restaurants as well. I have been to sari sunda restauant, sambel hejo restaurant which are some of sundanesse restaurant based in Bandung. I have also been to bebek tepi sawah restaurant which is balinesse restaurant based in Bali but they open a new branch in Bandung. But, Pandan wangi is one of the famous sundanesse restaurant in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia.

I have heard about this dapoer pandan wangi restaurant a long time ago from my friend. But, i never had the chance to try it since the first restaurant is on patuha street. It becomes really famous for the terong as time goes by, and when they are opened the second restaurants on pasir koja street i get the chance to try and dine-in for several times.

Dapoer pandan wangi has 2 outlets in bandung, the first one is on patuha street and they opened the new outlets on pasir koja streets few years ago. i have been to the one on pasirkoja street. The new outlets is bigger than the previous outlets, the new outlets is a two storey buildings with quite big parking area, eventhough sometimes still can’t fit for the cars especially when it comes to lunch time. Come to the worst, sometimes customers have to wait to get in. i would like to recommend, if you want to dine in for lunch or dinner with family or a group of you, better to do a resevervation first, so, you don’t need to wait or queue for a long time.

As a sundanesse restaurant, dapoer pandan wangi sold authentic sundanesse restaurant in the menu, one of the most famous one is the terong raos (eggplant) . dapoer pandan wangi’s terong raos is very well-known among the sundanesse food lovers and its become one of the menu attractions for the customer. But since i’m not a fan for eggplant this is not the favorite menu for me. Beside the terong raos, one of my favorite there is the sambal jengkol, its jengkol cooked in signature chilli sauce and it gives you a balance spicy taste and a great aroma, it becomes a great mixture when you eat it with rice. As sundanesse restaurants is usually famous with the chicken, one of the best here is the ayam ungkep. Its a aromatic chicken and look like a steam chicken but its not. Rather than go with the fried chicken, this ayam ungkep will definetly become a good choice to try. For the rice, they not only have white rice but also sell a good timbel and liwet rice which are a delicious traditional sundanesse rice that cooked and wrapped with banana leaf. They have a set menu as well beside the a la carte menu. They also sell a pre-order menu for any kind of events.

Food definetly become the main items that customer looking for in the restaurant. But, the atmosphere and environment of the restaurant also play an important role to convince and make customer comfortable when they dine-in. dapoer pandan wangi give a good atmosphere as a sundanesse restaurant with the design interior in the enterance and even inside the restaurant. As for the sundanesse, they would feel comfortable and feel like home when dine-in at pandan wangi. For the foreigner or tourists from other cities, they will feel the ambience of sundanesse culture inside the restaurant. For me, this restaurant also have a good rating for cleanliness. They always keep the restaurant nice and tidy, so people can enjoy to have the meal inside the restaurant. The restaurant is equipped with certain sink to wash your hands, as for some people it will be nicer to eat sundanesse food with their hands and its one of a good points to facilitate customer with a good facilities. This restaurant is like a family restaurant. For me, the environment is really nice for a family dining as its not seems like an enjoyable place to chill and hangout for a long time with friends. They also provide a big private room for a group of people such as a business people who wants to do a meeting of private dining with client or a group of family which take a lot of space if they dine-in on the normal table.

But, for me, i don’t really like the services here in dapoer pandan wangi. The services staffs sometimes can’t handle the customer in a good way. For the large number of customers, the staff must work fast and efficient, meanwhile in dapoer pandan wangi the staffs sometimes take a long time to serve the customer. In this case is to give the customer the menu, and serve the customer with the food. Not only that, sometimes they are not seeing the customer who called them for certain assistance and its not a good experience for customer. Eventhough its not always like that but they have to overcome this kind of stuffs as the first timer might not like it. On the other cases, when it comes to big tables, sometimes they forget about the addtional order as customers already waiting for their food, but the staffs forget about it. So, the customers have to call and ask once more about their food. As i dine-in this restaurants for several times, i have experienced all those things above. The problem is, big tables will always have a lot of orders and those kind of problem will make the other foods cold while waiting for the one which haven’t come out yet.
